Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U Community

So according to a recent article, the Ice Climbers were indeed cut from the roster of Smash 4 because of the limitations of the 3DS. The team character was too much for it. But that made me think of a question: how would you feel about Popo or Nana coming back as a single character, or as costumes of each other? Remove the team element, but the character stays mostly the same.

  • I think that Sakurai lied to us about the roster being the same for both versions and that Ice Climbers will only be on the Wii U version

add power, more range and a decent up B and i'd take it.

  • no if that was real so why we got characters like Rosalina & Luma?

  • According to what I read, it sounds like they were removed entirely from the Wii U to keep the rosters the same. So they probably won't come back, at least for a while. Rosalina and Luma aren't nearly as complex as the Ice Climbers are. Luma is like a mini character, but the Ice Climbers are like controlling two full characters at once. Both of them also need full CPU AI. There's a lot to them.

  • If you don't believe me, you can just do a search for 'Smash Bros' in google and go to news. It's one of the newest articles from IGN.

indeed. if popo's nowhere near her, she can act full well on her own. luma just waits for orders.

  • Luma does do stuff on its own I think, but it mostly responds to your button inputs. He won't go total-beat down like Nana would if she can't get back to you right away.

  • no Luma wii act on is own from time to time

but not like nana did. ah, wait, i think this is a losing battle, and i don't play escalation anymore. goodbye!

    Yeahs0
  • Luma is still mostly dependent on your commands, though. Nana has a lot of complexities to her: she has to act on your inputs, she has to act on her own, she has to find her way back to you without help, etc. Not to mention its two full character models, unlike tiny Luma. Getting Smash 3DS to run as smooth as it does probably wasn't easy, and the Climbers might have been too much of a headache.
