    They want to unleash Smash Attacks while moving faster than a dash. Honestly, wavedashing was a really broken technique. It was only left in because Sakurai didn't think that it would affect gameplay, but wavedashing ended up affecting it so much that you couldn't become a good professional Melee player without learning it.
