My main disappointment comes from the fact that once again, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Earthbound, and to a lesser extent Zelda got screwed over in terms of representation. (as well as Ice Climber and Metal Gear - most of the popularity for Ice Climber came from Smash Bros., and it's disappointing to see that, by all appearances, they didn't even try to get in touch with Konami)

    2 games in a roll that we don't even have 1 Donkey Kong assist trophy despite how popular the series is at this point ya know at this point I think Sakurai has something against the Donkey Kong series

    Star Fox lost content and gained nothing new. Mother/Earthbound lost a character, though it got a new stage that was well-recieved. Donkey Kong gained absolutely nothing in spite of having two major releases. Metroid gained two assist trophies, but continues to only represented by Samus as far as the roster goes. Zelda gained quite a few items, but its roster is basically unchanged since Melee and

    the most popular choices for playable characters were made into assist trophies, ruling them out for DLC. Ice Climber and Metal Gear were completely removed from the game. All of them had it rough, especially compared to Mario, Kid Icarus, and Fire Emblem. Mario getting preferential treatment is understandable (though somewhat excessive this time); the others, not so much.

    Yeah but why do you think they deserve better representation? The roster is great. No some of the most popular choices were made into characters and some didn't make it.

    For starters, I feel like unique characters should be kept in the game. I was a Mewtwo main in Melee, so even though I didn't play as Squirtle or Lucas much in Brawl, I know what it's like to lose a unique veteran and get nothing in return. Like I already said, DK has had two major releases since Brawl, and Zelda's roster has basically been unchanged since Melee. They're two of Nintendo's

    Nothing in return? All the newcomers are what we got in return. Zerosuit and regular are different characters and there aren't many options in Metroid. Star Fox doesn't offer up many unique movesets really either. I was expecting Krystal but I think Palutena fills the staff user quotient. I think smash help give EB its popularity so it is unfair to say it doesn't do it justice.

    The Zelda reps are all of the Zelda franchises main characters. Plus characters should never get in just for representation. The best quality characters should get in.
