Oh, thank goodness! I was hoping this would be the case! This will make playing the Wii U version at my Video Game Club MUCH more easy, as everyone will have the 3DS version, and be used to it's controls.

  • Thats a pretty cool idea, I didnt know they were able to do that yet ^^

    Yeahs2
  • Wow 3DS can handle that?!! (well I'm guessing this would put a bit of strain on 3DS CPU! That's awesome, I shall be doing this when I battle my dad! I can see this as a future thing. People all having extremely powerful handhelds that are also used as a controller for home console to play even more powerful games! If that was to ever happen remember Nintendo set that trend!

  • that is the most awsome thing ive heard all day

  • Nice another controller option.

  • Nice that we'll be able to transfer custom move sets. It'll be handy when going to friends' houses and want to carry over my mains' movesets! As for that 3DS control method... I'm pretty sure a large majority (myself included) will be using the GC controllers so I personally won't find that too useful. But it's still nice to have more options!

  • Good to hear that Nintendo is taking the initative to implement their consoles in games across platforms, now they just have to do it in more games.

I wonder if the operating system will handle the 'controller' task - or maybe the framework will come from the Game Card?

  • Why didn't they do this with WWHD? :/

  • @Amber,think of it like this. You have 3 friends and you want to play Smash For Wii U. But you only have a Wiimote and the Gamepad. Your 3rd friend l(luckily) has Smash for 3ds. So then you can play it without have to take turns or something! And @3dsNews,I have a question. Most stages will either be on the 3ds version or the Wii U version only. Will the 3ds be able to load those type of stages?

    Yeahs0
  • I've got only three controllers (WiiMote, Pro Controller and GamePad), so this function could come in handy with four players! :3

  • Great news.

  • @ƒBαωş§ that's unknown at this point without more detail about the Wii U version since Sakurai hasn't yet told us how the linking feature will work [Koi]
