    Amazing. It's pretty much the meanest JRPG ever. Actually, Phantasy Star 2 is meaner, especially it's dungeons, but at least BOF 2 rewards the player for sticking it out.

    true especially how bof 2 rewards you by having you listen to a remix of the breath of fire 1 overworld theme when you free patty the bat girl from her cell at sima fort and i give breath of fire 2 composer name yuko takehara credit for atempting to reward the player musically by remixing the breath of fire 1 overworld when your exploring the rest of the breath of fire 2 overworld

    The last dungeon alone took me about 10 hours to complete with battles every 4 steps or so. Man it was so tough, but the great music kept me going until the end (no restore points either)

    I played this game a ton back when it was re-released on the GBA. To add onto Fred's comment, that last dungeon was murder. I swear they made it so you ran into battles way more often than necessary, though I usually did my training on a certain "island" ;)
