I think it's mainly because of Mewtwo's absence in Brawl, being one of the more unique characters in the game. And now he's missing in action again. But Mewtwo also has a huge fan base, and was the primary marketing tactic from Game Freak during X and Y. (By the way, do you have thoughts on Mega Beedrill?)

Also, apparently Goku is Piccolo's slave, Krillin is nonexistent, Tien is nonexistent, Roshi isn't old, Goku got a formal education, and Yamcha is relevant to the plot.

My thoughts exactly, the only person that makes Mewtwo cool in Melee is Mew2King... Even then, he only does good against Fox and Falco players cuz he Wombo Combo's them to death. Basically: Hit + Connection = DEATH Otherwise... Mewtwo is irrelevant.

Yeah, but maybe Sakurai just decided to finally push Mewtwo under the rug... Who knows, maybe he could be a super secret playable character that the rumours have been speculating.

So I did classic intensity 9.0 ten times. And I never lost until I got to master hand/core and got beaten. That's a lot of money wasted. (22,000 coins total)

But Sakarai and any true fans still understand the importance of the Original 12, so I don't really think people should say Jigglypuff's lucky to make it back.

Masahiro Sakurai made it a point not to add characters with same move sets.. but gandolf and falco are still in for some reason. Mewtwo would be exactly the same as Lucario. point to point, attack to attack, they are the same everything except for color and back story

If you ask me, the Wii U GameCube controllers were a waste of time and money. Nintendo can barely handle all of their current controllers properly.

I still have my original Wii as well as a second one my mom bought from a friend, both of which can play GC games. But I don't really have any reason to, as I don't have any GC stuff (specifically a memory card). I just wish they had instead put their attention into duel-GamePad support, something they promised us we'd have by the end of last year.
