  • It's true. Sakurai and Iwata later decided to change the faceless anonymous fighters to Nintendo icons like Mario, DK, Pikachu, etc. And named it Super Smash Bros. It was all just an experiment, and look where it is now. Ain't that amazing?

  • Yes the full name was Dragon king: A Fighting Game. and also the backgrounds were pictures of cities in japan and other places the stages would fly by.

    Yeahs3
  • Also originally was only to be released in Japan.

This is true. It was supposed to be the fighting game we know today but with generic fighers and to be a Japanese exclusive. Good thing the call was made to be a worldwide release and use Nintendo characters! What a good decision that was!

  • I think the original Super Smash Bros. is better than the 2nd one; the 2nd one made less sense!
