Like in my story, literally the only things you can know for certain about the character is that he has a black pelt and is winged. That's it. It helps because it lets the reader imagine, but it can hurt in writing too, and when I'm just chatting.

True. But maybe I like it vague. Give the reader an outline, let them fill it in. That's why I dislike film adaptations, they remove the imagination aspect. Oh wait a whole notebook entry?
