The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, and Xenoblade Chronicles X are all still on track to make their 2015 debut. Kirby: Rainbow Curse is also scheduled to hit the console next year, and so will Splatoon, Mario Maker and Yoshi’s Woolly World!

  • But will Nintendo be able to maintain this momentum for long or will it be just like with the N64, Gamecube and Wii, where they released many AAA titles in the early years of the console only to run out of significant releases by the remainder of the generation?

  • I want to be optimistic, but at the same time I don't want to overestimate the WiiU success like I did with the Wii and the Gamecube. Both were great in their early years but really dropped in quality in their final years.

  • Fair enough. Just take it piece by piece. Enjoy this and next years amazing titles before we worry about 2016!

  • I've been hesitant to get a WiiU because of the reasons I stated before, but I guess I should get one before it loses its peak. Given how good 2015 is sounding, next year might be the best time to get it.

The Wii is still the best-selling console of the seventh generation, though. And unless the Wii U can somehow catch up to the PS4, I have a feeling that it's going to end up like the GameCube: amazing games, but poor sales. At least the Wii U isn't in last like the GCN was (the Xbox One is in last, this generation).

  • I actually wasn't planning to get a WiiU at all. But seeing so many great titles being released on it is making think otherwise. I'm torn between getting the WiiU and the PS4 right now, since both have great exclusives.

  • I play games just for games. If you want the best games IMO. I say get a WiiU without a doubt. If you buy video game systems to do things that you may already have get a ps4. I don't need a blu ray/DVD player so that brings the price up for no reason. Don't even have a HD TV. Plus I don't like paying for something that's free(online play).

  • I do have a bigger attachment towards the Nintendo exclusives though, as I've a fan of Nintendo since I was little. I really don't want to miss out in the great games that are on the WiiU, so I think I'll probably get it instead of the PS4. Plus, at least with the WiiU I won't have to pay to play SSB4 online. Thanks for your advice Malik.
