@Jkay They didn't add a story mode in the 3DS or Wii U version because Subspace Emmisary cutscenes in Brawl were leaked online prior to the game's release, and it leaked out the rest of the unannounced character roster. So I assume that Sakurai didn't put in a story mode to prevent this from happening again.
