The turians helped end the Krogan Rebellions and in 1400 GS the turians became the third member of the Council. Their military might filled the role of galactic peace-keepers left by centuries of war.

Two months later the Council sent Shepard after the last of the geth as the Council repaired the Citadel and prepared for the coming Reaper Invasion. But Shepard was killed in a collector attack.

Ha ha, I should have known... strange question: I have just finished the fourth novel - why do u think drells are not even mentioned in any of the novels? A drell doesnt even so much as pass by!
