I recall a time when I first played through this game. It was the Gamecube and although I'm not sure it was probably the longest playthough I've had out the Legend of Zelda series. Partly due to...

True, after all how often do we come across evil Fairies? Two come closely to mind except it's just misguided youth on one hand and the other is, for the lack of a better word, tsundere.

You could also ask "how often do we come across a dark version of ourselves?" Unless you're Link or have an evil twin, that's still pretty unlikely too.

Even then, it always lead to interesting spins. So far anyways. Be it something like a future time travelling version of one's self gone mad from an obsession right down to something of a simple concept like a test or two.

The most unexpecting person could be walking on a fine line until something of minor inconvenience happens and they just SNAP. And the only who can stop them is the alternate timeline version of themselves. The good version.

Perhaps somewhere would be an endless loop or cycle untill someone figures out on breaking it through a series of experiments, long-term planning and a little push here and there.

I think the Legend of Zelda is an endless loop. That would explain why barely any of them ever seem to be connected.

It could be my imagination but I also noticed that down along the time line Link seems to get a little stronger/tougher each time he rises to challange from game to game.

Could be. I couldn't say either way if he gets stronger or not. I've only played 8 Zelda games and never tried to follow any timeline. I never thought any of them were connected except the sequels. I always thought each were their own legend.

They are, they're also on a timeline. Skyward Sword is currently the earliest in the line, and the Link there just can't sprint, roll, or carry heavy things as much as his other incarnations. And it's funny that you mention it, before Nintendo released the official timeline I always thought the games featuring the foursword were a parallel world kind of thing.

Yeah I know about the timeline. I have the Hyrule Historia. I just never thought they were all meant to go together. Even the timeline says there are a few heroes all named Link. Is the hero statue in WW supposed to be the Link from SS?

Probably, though considering how much older Wind Waker is and the stained glass windows in the room beneath, it's more likely to be Ocarina of Time Link.

That makes a lot more sense. For some reason, I was thinking WW came right after SS. I had Minish Cap on my mind.

Because of that game (and a few others) the R button on my GBA sp got worn out.

I never played WW or MC before the Wii U. I was never aware of the handheld Zelda games when I had my GBA.

The only Legend of Zelda game I haven't played (not counting spin offs or still in development) is A Link between worlds.

I bought ALBW and ALTTP about a month ago, I just have to play them. Gotta play ALTTP first though. I got most of the Zelda games on eShop. Just haven't got to them yet.

I don't remember when I was first introduced to ALTTP other than when both snes and N64 were still very common but I do recall a solid line between frustration and having some laughs with a friend of mine.

Frustration because some of enemies, like a very bouncy boss that kept knocking me off the arena to the floor below and having to start the fight ALL over leaving the dungeon just to restock every now and again. Laughs because we were just goofing off like wacking a couple of people with a hammer and actually getting a response.
