    Well, if its blocked, that is probably not where you need to go/be... talk to the King of the Red Lions (your boat).... he usually tells you what you need to do next.

    I thought that too, but the fish said something about using freeze arrows to defeat a monster in the forsaken fortress, and you don't use freeze arrows on the bird.

    Also, the information the fish gives doesn't change (pretty sure) therefore if there are no mosters there anymore, the info is still the same. The fish speaks of monsters of the past*
