    Ashley makes an appearance as an assist trophy, as does Waluigi. I do realize that it doesn't really confirm Wario, but it does make him all the more likely.

    C. Falcon is a staple character, he's not going to go, especially considering how iconic he is.

    Ness is also a staple, and was only considered for removal once, in Melee, but that was when SSB was still a new franchise. The original 12 all returned for Brawl.

    Meta Knight is more of a Wario thing, where there is something we have proof of that could confirm him, but it's not 100% guaranteed. (Halberd stage)
