    Try shoving the wire for the mic all the way in it sometimes feels that it's all the way in but it REALY isn't.

    I have the wireless set but use as wired for chat. I just make sure chat is on and plug it in. Then turn up game pad volume up

    you need to use the GREY 3.5mm cable, the xbox green one will not work as its missing a "band" youll only be able to hear not speak.
