KI: U Inconsistency #1: KI established Palutena as the ruling & most powerful god. Everything in Up. can be avoided if Palutena just got off her butt and dealt with Viridi & Hades like she did Medusa.

  • I've only played Kid Icarus on the Wii (and got stuck in like the last world or something) a while after getting Uprising, so I don't know a tremendous amount about these things. They certainly aren't

  • *3 minute restriction later...* very professional in Uprising. lol

    Yeahs0
  • Pit's characterization was mostly shown through the artwork in the manuals (there are a LOT of pics) while Palutena's was in the narrative. OM&M described Pit as serious, formal, & very responsible

  • Palutena was portrayed as a much more serious & matronly goddess. KI had hints that she was meant to be a warrior goddess, which makes sense as she's based off Athena.

  • Pit & Palutena had a much more distant & professional relationship. Pit was not only captain of the guard, he is also Angel Land's peacekeeper & law enforcer.

  • The artwork show Pit as being quite proud & dignified, a guy who walks with his head held high. One piece that stands out to me is the pic of OM&M Pit sipping wine while -staring down- at the viewer

  • Compared to Up. Pit, B.Pit comes off as more regal & focused on the task while still having a lighthearted character. He gave no F's about his disability as shown by his "falling w/ style" in SSE.

  • Up. Pit is far more cheerful, goofy, & childish than his previous versions. He even has some abandonment issues which is odd since he was fine as a ring...

  • Up. Pit is undisciplined as shown by his distraction at the mention of pie & his willingness to open a trapped treasure box against Magnus's warnings, simply b/c "OOO SHINY! CAN'T HELP IT!"

  • He loses his confidence when Palutena isn't around to reassure him, which means he has weak character, and admits that she does most of the thinking for him.

  • He is also naive. Being naive means to lack experience. That makes no sense considering Pit is a -war veteran- & a PoW... in "Hell" & had to travel the world on his own in his 2 previous games.

  • Pit in Up. is a powerful warrior on his own, but he comes off as WAY too undisciplined & immature. How is this guy in the position of a -military leader-?

  • Okay. He definitely seems like a puppy in Uprising. Or a kitten, as Palutena called him at one point. I haven't really thought about his behavior in Brawl before... What went wrong between games?

  • Forgive me for being long-winded. ^-^'

  • There is one piece of NES Pit artwork of him being playful, so he does have a lighthearted side, but there is a huge difference between lightheartedness and being immature & moronic.

  • Definitely rewatch the Brawl trailer & SSE scenes. He is much more solemn & focused. Gameplaywise he moves w/ more grace. Though voiced by a woman, Pit's tone is much more regal & had "OOMPH!"

  • I'm not sure if Brawl even still works... Eh, youtube.

    Yeahs0
  • If you ever get to see artwork of NES & OM&M Pit, & watch him in Brawl, it's quite clear that Up. Pit is an entirely different character from those three.

  • From what little I've seen, while still goofy, Pit in the Jap. version of Up. is more serious than in the Eng. version. Eng. version added more jokes & dialogue to the game, much like the Digimon dubs

  • Pit being lighthearted is no problem, but he should've been wiser, more competent, & more independent than what Up. shows him to be. He's the Captain of the Guard! He should be portrayed as a LEADER!
