Good news and bad news: In all smash games there are always 2 Pokemon newcomers. In SSB4, there is only one room for a Pokemon left (because 6 would be too many Pokemon, there are four now) So, good news: Jigglypuff's not in. Bad news: Mewtwo won't be in.

    @Gustavo: 5 is the maximum number of challengers per series. Now there are 4 Pokémon confirmed, mand only one is a Newcomer. In all smash games, there are ALWAYS 2 Pokemon newcomers. It's practically a law, like the "no Yoshi reps" rule.

    indeed you said their cant be 6 reps there was 6 reps in brawl pikachu jigglpuff lucario squirtle ivysaur and charizard so they may just bring back mewtwo and jigglypuff and until i see psyical proof im not believing you

    plus jigglypuff has been my main since the beginning hes awesome hes easy to use has an awesome design and hes just epic him captain falcon and ness are guaranteed to return thats all

    I believe the only pattern Sakurai is following is including all the 64 veterans, otherwise we wouldn't have Lucario AND Ike in this game, and even though there were TECHNICALLY 6 Pokémon in Brawl, three were all in one character slot, so they counted as one character, similar to how Zelda and Shiek counted as one character in previous games

    @alex: Squirtle, Ivysur and Charizard were one single character. @Tamara: Well it's a rule, like "no yoshi reps" or "2 Pokemon newcomers per game" and it has logic because there can't be too many Pokemon... @Gustavo: So? That doesn't mean she will return.

    @Borealis: These are patterns and logic patterns. Yoshi series can't have reps, and more than 5 Pokemon will be too many Pokemon. Sakurai told that, because 54% of the characters i melee were from Mario, Zelda and Pokemon, there will be only 5 characters maximum per series
