    you can use one of a few ways. one is the masuda method, where you take 2 pokemon of different nationalities and breed them repeatedly. this will raise the odds of obtaining a shiny to about 1/815.

    For chain fishing you have to stay still and not move at all. and not open any menu or use any item other than the fishing rod. If you did all that then you're just unlucky. :(

    Masuda Method is absolutely the most reliable way. Especially breeding already-high-IV Pokemon. Otherwise shinies will almost always be competitively worthless.
