    A friend of mine caught Xerneas with a quick ball. I think that they made it easier to catch legendaries in X and Y.

    the game is coded so that the main legendaries both have a catch rate modifier of 255x, exactly that of a master ball. Any pokeball would have a 100% chance of catching them

    Nah. It's a storyline requirement that you catch Xerneas or Yveltal. The game will just pretend nothing happened if you KO them and run through the battle against them again until you DO catch them.
