    @Alex, oh that's pretty simple actually, because UMVC3 was a Capcom game, Phoenix Wright being part of Capcom it was a viable character to choose.

    Phoenix could use evidence as a weapon just like in UMvC3. Finger pointing could prove to be effective as well. For Layton, I did see a video where he used a sword. That could be an attack.

    @Carlos: That is true. Either way, I'm glad Capcom is doing something right by getting Mega Man into SSB. For that, I'm happy.
