    I remember when the L button didn't work for my ds lite... All I can think of for you is to sorta lift the L button off a little and blow any dust thats in it.

    Or you can get a DAMP object and stick it into the L button to clean it. ( Luckily Super Mario 3d Land can also use the R button.)

    Well my R button barely works. So games like Luigi's Mansion and Raving Rabbids Travel in time are impossible
