    I honestly think that since there are rings EVERYWHERE, it makes the game a little too easy.

    It does for me too. Many players complained about loosing lives and I guess found staring at a game over screen frustrating. I find game over screen amusing, mostly for jingles.

    You can have all of the lives in world but if you are the kind of person who doesn't catch on well with platform games then the whole extra lives update seems more counter-productive to me.

    The update never bothered me, anyway. It was just a surprise since the one hundred rings equals one live wasn't as prominent, or important, as it was in the Genesis games.
