    There are no hearts in hero mode. The only way to recover health is with a heart piece (or heart container) or a potion.

    I meant is there anywhere to heal at all? I cant go to Windfall to buy potions bc King of Red Lions says I need the pearl first. Is there a fairy fountain somewhere?

    I did notice though that saving, going to title screen, and then returning heals you though lol.

    NO HEARTS SPAWN IN HERO MODE YOU SUCKER! You can always deactivate hero mode from the file selection screen FYI.
