    we can set up a trade via gts. you put a certain pokemon up, like fletchling for fletchling, then we trade and once we're acquaintances we can battle/trade again and register each other as friends.

    Usually it'll prompt you after a battle or a trade with them. You check a box to register them as a friend and bam! Done! (As long as their settings allow it, sometimes they don't)
