    The touch screen just shows the morse code for the letters, like tap, tap, hold, tap (with the y button of course); its there for a reference when punching the code in.

    yes, yes, but in a game that uses the touchscreen HEAVILY, why would they not let that be a way of inputting the morse code?

    Maybe just because, you know morse code is when you push down repetitively to send a message, maybe they wanted to give us the feeling of actualy doing a morse code, by pressing a button
