    For single player, it's either go through the rings, or sink the enemy vessels. You can rise/dive with the left slidepad and speed up/slow down with the X/B buttons.

    You can also do all this from the touchscreen. There is a tutorial section if I'm not mistaken, so you might want to check that out before diving in.
