    Start by upgrading your better high rank sets to have G rank defense. Helios/Selene Z is a great early set for blademasters.

    try getting one of the narga sets, they have great evade skills. or regular diablos if your a greatsword fan

    Mixed sets depend on your weapon type and charms. Helios Z is really good. Rath Soul Z should be good, it sounds like you just need to upgrade it & work on dodging. You may want to look into Evade+1.
