I think that an update to the Wii U software to read GameCube disks would be an interesting thing. I don't know if Nintendo are going to release titles from the GameCube to the Virtual Console, but after watched the Smash Tournament, I saw a lot of potential to increase their sales if they update their software.

    It looks like the main problem is that the Wii U disc drive can't read the GC mini disc, or so i have read.

    I read the same stuff, but added the problem that Nintendo wasn't going to release a GC port. Only Nintendo knows about their limitations and it looks like they handled with the periferal problem.
