Nintendo, I am begging you, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make Link a girl or at least give us the option to choose our gender at the start of the game! You were saying that you wanted to break away from conventional Zelda games and this would be perfect! I see some other posts on here from people who agree with me and I think a lot of people have been wanting this change for years!

  • While we're at it let's make Mario and donkey Kong girls too.

  • Sure, seems like a cool idea I'm all on bord...though we can't really call him link anymore if that's the case... hmmm... how bout' Linkette XD

    Yeahs0
  • Well having Peach save Mario for once instead of bumbling around and getting kidnapped every other second would be a refreshing change. The ditsy damsel in distress routine is getting old.

  • It'd be pretty cool if we could play Link as a girl :D Even if the option exists in Zelda Wii U, I'd still pick a male Link, cause' that's what I'm used to

    Yeahs0
  • Technically he is never named in the game so that wouldn't be so big an issue. Besides, I think Link is pretty gender neutral. Now if they made Zelda a guy they'd have a really hard time!

    Yeahs0
  • I'd probably pick male link too (just out of habit xD) though I'd be nice to have the option

    Yeahs0
  • @Paige: there is a game where peach saves mario already, it's called super princess peach ^^

    Yeahs0
  • It would be cool if Zelda somehow saves Link in this new Zelda game *fiercely ignoring the Zelda CD-i games*

    Yeahs1
  • Why not have an open world Legend of Zelda game where the adventure starts from three different characters? Playing as a female role (lets say, Zelda starting in Hyrule castle/Streets of Hyrule) and eventually getting to a version Kokiri village with Link as an NPC who gradually progresses alongside you/gives you tips would be better game design than lazily gender swapping established.

  • Why would you even need Link there in the first place though? You wouldn't be able to play as him and I definitely don't want another character holding my hand and leading me through the game, giving constant tips along the way. Remember Navi?

    Yeahs0
  • This is REALLY off topic but how come our Mii icons (for the people who Yeah'd the post) look so sad?

    Yeahs0
  • Why don't they make three seperate story lines that follow the story from different perspectives and all converge at the end♪

    Yeahs0
  • Because the Universe of The Legend of Zelda wouldn't be the same without Link. Running into Link while playing as Zelda would be funny. Think random encounters: riding or running through an Open World Hyrule as Zelda and suddenly seeing Link fighting a beast, being able to either stop to help or ignore him. Having the NPC comment about that encounter later in the Village would be great game design

    Yeahs0
  • The idea of seeing the different perspectives of different characters is still pretty cool though. If instead we get one storyline but we jump back in forth in between characters, we'd get different perspectives. But then it could sort of 'disconnect' us from the whole experience. That's just how I feel :D I just like to focus on one character and feel really immersed.

    Yeahs0
