Thoughts on Zelda U, Hyrule Warriors and Majora's Mask 3D. Zelda U: Looks (graphically) mostly fantastic, I love how they're finally getting away from linear design in favor of the free exploration the series does so well, thanks to ALBW for starting that. Hyrule Warriors: Looks interesting, I especially love that you can play as Zelda and Impa, but it interests me less than Zelda U...

  • ...Majora's Mask 3D: Still makes sense as the OoT 3D assets are there and I wouldn't mind a remake, but more likely to be a late release 3DS title (E3 2016 or 2017), I doubt it'll be the subject of tomorrow's mystery 3DS game. What were your thoughts, everyone?

  • Don't give up hope bro, nintendo has come out all guns blazing! MM will be the mystery game. STARFOX!!! Yeah baby!!

  • I was highly impressed with the look of the new Zelda U game. I have to say, I'm a little wary of some elements we saw, such as the lasers and the electro spike arrow. It looks like a sort of future-past melding, like how the final fantasy games went a bit deep end after a while, with the guns and motorcycles and whatnot. I'm sure nintendo is steady at the reins, though.

  • It definitely looks good thanks to the power of the Wii U, but I'm kind of surprised that they're going with and more SS style instead of TP considering how powerful the system is. As for the lazers I'm not too concerned, it's likely just another case of random technology in Zelda games, like phones in Link's Awakening or the jukebox in Ocarinavof Time.

  • juke box in OOT???

  • Wasn't Zelda Williams going to be involved in something special ....... MM today!!!!!

  • @Eli: It's pretty well-hidden, not surprised that you don't know of it, go into the Bombchu Bowling Alley as Young Link and look to Link's left, the jukebox is there, positive it's in OoT 3D, pretty sure it's in all other versions as well.

  • You are right. I guess there always has been that technological element in most of the games. One friend of mine described it as borderline steampunk. Anyone who's interested should check out the youtube video, gameplay rewind, I think, for the Zelda trailer. It's thirteen minutes of two IGN guys breaking and speculating on all the little details of the trailer.

  • Yeah, there's tons of other examples, it makes the fact that everyone freaked out about train in Spirit Tracks even more ridiculous.
