    It's actually a bigger deal than you'd think. In the original Xenoblade, it looks like some locations are reachable by falling, but the fall damage kills you, so you actually have to come up with a new plan and path to reach your location. Like I said, I'm sure it'll be there in the final product.

    the whole point of having a huge world to explore is to make u have to think how to get to certain locations...u see a huge cavern and think...how do i get to the bottom? with this u'd just jump down

    granted once u get to flying around in the dolls that'll take away a lot of the challenge of getting places it still doesn't change the fact that a lot of ppl like myself want to roam around on foot

    in the first xenoblade i ran off of cliffs many times in valak mountain because it's so disorienting...and when i fell i got hurt which is how it should be

    Then do that. You can still walk down the mountain. You don't have to jump off.

    The people in the game are humans, and humans could not survive a fall from that height. Like I've said twice now, the final release will more than likely have fall damage. It doesn't come out until 2015. There's still a lot of work.
