I'm trying to get 2 Ceadeus Tails right now. But, Ceadeus won't stay still long enough for me to reach his tail so that I can cut it. I need some help.

My new favourite tailcutter is the longsword. You've the speed and agility of a bow, with huge range, really wide vertical swings, and great damage. If you can do slime, it damages breakables when it goes off, so that helps too.

When in the Ruins you can attack his Tail a lot with a good Melee Weapon or to do even better damage, Use the UW Ballistas and shoot the Tail. (WARNING: This will not cut the Tail, It will just make a lot of Scales come off, You cannot cut his Tail b/c he's an ElderDragon)

You cant cut the ceadeus's tail, only wound it...

Ok here is a better tip k? Dragon Weapons meaning weapons that do dragon atk hurt elder dragons atleast most Ceadus is weak to dragon and you break the tail you cant remove it like most monsters just keep hitting the tail till it breaks and shows scarring =) if you are doing the chase away/repelling this wont help you since you need to do that quickly other then that try dragon atk weapons!!!

What weapon are you using? if a bow x_x i feel sorry for you since under water they arent the greatest....i used one trust me had the hardest time underwater but was great on land im using hunter horn myself.

Just go berserk on the tail then it will take awhile be warned k? be patient though it will come in time =)

Just shoot the tail using the UW ballistas in the arena. cha-cha and kayamba can keep it occupied while you unload. Alternatively you can also try to hit the tail with the dragonator but most people hit the head with that.
