Impressions

After a lot of time, finally i think that Ridley will be playable. Why? Remember the Smash bros Direct in one part of the direct, Sakurai show us the shadow of Ridley, saying that some boss characters will appear in some stages of the game, the thing is. Why Sakurai don't show us Ridley instead of showing his shadow? Actually Sakurai show us if a character we want will be not playable.

Size doesn't matter in smash remember bowser, lucario, olimar, ganondorf and fox. The thing is will be pretty obvious if Ridley will be not playable. Sakurai has no problem showing us if a character will be not playable.

Also remember the stage Spirit Train everyone look that Toon Link was controlling the train, SO everyone think that Toon Link will be not a playable character anymore, but he came back as a playable character and Sakurai show us that if some someone play as toon link in that stage, the toon link that appear in there is replaced with Alfonzo.

I used to think Ridley had no chance, but I watched the direct again and Sakurai was being pretty vague about 'bosses', so I say it's about 50/50 now.

The thing is that we know that Ridley appears in the pyrosphere stage as a stage hazard but what will happend if we play as him in that stage obviously he will not appear as atage hazard anymore and he will only appear as a playable character

Counter Argument : Nintendo Power Article 2008 with Sakurai,they asked him will Ridley be in the game,he said NO,but yes depending on his effort. So,it depends on which Sakurai is lazy or not. By best chances,he chose to be lazy.

Also there are more facts that can prove that Ridley will be a playable character One big difference between Brawl and the new smash is the speed watching the videos show us that the speed has change How all characters look is more balanced And if Ridley is only a stage hazard why Sakurai say that and ends all expectations about Ridley in the new smash. So we have to wait to now the answer.

Apparently, the sizes of shadows don't change based on how high up a character is. People have done comparisons, and Ridley's shadow is roughly the size of Bowser's or Rosalina's - hardly the size that you'd expect a boss character. Still, it's vague, so we'll have to wait until E3 or the 3DS release to get a definitive answer.
