    Killing monsters in moga woods mostly. You can also generate rescource points. I'd wait until you get to hunt the duramboros, his horns can generate 1500. If you're at the beginning of the game, get the dlc, gives you 5000 rescource points right off the bat.

    You get'em by hunting in the moga woods and turning it in to that big ugly doofy dued stand on some big cloth looking thing.

    Resource points are used for farming and the fishery, and are obtained by hunting in free hunt, then selecting the report option from junior when you return.

    When you hunt in Moga Woods each kill is converted into Resource Points there are other ways to obtain them as well one is by converting items which you do by talking to "Junior" The Village Chief's Son who is standing on a bunch of boxes facing near the Entrance to Moga Woods.

    i once was a noob also. but to get rescource's you just go and hunt things while not on a quest and go back to the cheifs son, and give him the hunt report to get rescources
