Considering doing a study; Does hiding help your odds? As in, if you mask, not to evade HT's, but to simply confuse the enemy, does it definitively improve your odds of survival, and, thus, winning? To find out, I would ask people that already use this tactic to, well, NOT, and vice versa. (any volunteers?)

    my legal team says that you may mod whatever sub you like-also, it does not have to be your primary sub, so you can keep your normal tryhard stats confidential, if you so desire.

    Now, as far as collecting your data: simply note how many matches you played, how many of them you WON, how many matches you survived, and whether you are masking to hide or refusing to mask. (to keep this as casual as possible, if you are refusing to mask, you are allowed to mask to evade HT's, but you must break the mask ASAP, i.e., fire a torpedo.)

    Well, it worked on a guy I was 1 on 1(I took like one hit but sank him)... but the 'team' I was with all sunk and I could not sink the others... I will continue to research.

    I can tell you that masking certainly helps. If you want the enemy to stop shooting at you, just mask! If there are other subs nearby, they usually switch target! This will usually helps weak, but fast sub to flank attacker! Not too scientific, but it works in practice!

    Not really-while big, slow subs are sluggish, they also tend to have high HP and more powerful torpedoes; show those pesky subs who's boss, tank shots as needed, and beat them into submission. in this case, your best defense is a brutal offense.
