    Well his name is Clash man in the famicom Rockman 2 version. They changed it to Crash for the NES versions. Gameboy Megaman 2 I heard was developed by a different team so maybe they overlooked this and the original japanese name stayed.

    All they pretty much did was change the title screen. That's the only change made from the Japanese version and the American version.

    I also remember Dr. Light being referred to as Dr. Right in MM3 NES, which is his japanese name. It makes a little more sense now.

    In Japanese language one of the "letters" is like a mix of R and L so you can use either-or for Crash/Clash Man and Dr. Light/Right.
