    The Eclipse mercenary group was founded by the ruthless sadist, asari commando Jona Sederis. Their members are mostly comprised of asari, salarian, and humans, and their training is influenced by asari and salarian military doctrine. Specializing in sabotage, assassination, and security, both personal and organizational. Sederis called her group a "proactive" security company.

    In 2176, Shortly after Eclipse was founded, a rebellion raged on the human-dominated planet Anhur. The corrupt government abolished the minimum wage, relegalizing slavery in an attempt to compete with the batarian government's open slave trade. Opponents of the motion battled a batarian faction called Na'hesit who wished to keep their slaves. Outmatched, the activists hired mercs to even the odds.

    Sederis, looking for government contracts in order to compete with the better established Blue Suns mercenary group, retook several space stations captured by the Anhur People's Liberation Army and neutralized its leader, scoring a galactic PR coup. After which the security firm was embraced in the Skillian Verge and the Terminus Systems, though the Citadel government regarded them with suspicion.

    Sederis based Eclipse on Omega Station paying homage to Aria. Eclipse owns 20% of the station's real estate. Their services range from mech repair to open warfare. Eclipse, less disciplined than the Blue Suns, make up for it with biotics, advanced weapons, and mechs. By 2183 Sederis left control of Eclipse on Omega to Jaroth who is responsible for shipping tainted eezo across Citadel space.

    In 2185 Jaroth's brother was killed during a raid on an Eclipse ship by the vigilante Archangel. Prompting Jaroth to team up with the Blue Suns and Blood Pack to stop Archangel's disruption of their operation. If they'd succeeded, Jaroth was planning to use their alliance to take down Aria. However, Jaroth was instead killed by Shepard, Archangel was extracted, and Aria was informed of the intent.

    On the asari metropolis of Illium, famous for legalizing everything but murder, the planet's underworld is run by the Eclipse Sisterhood, who recruit young asari to train as murderers, and their leader, asari commando Captain Wasea who smuggled the ardat-yakshi Morinth off Illium. The Eclipse Sisters were also hired by business tycoon Nassana Dantius to protect her from the assassin Thane Krios.

    As well as by Niket to transport Miranda Lawson's sister Oriana back to her father. Once again, Commander Shepard is responsible for stopping the operations of the Eclipse on Illium. But Eclipse have also been hired privately outside the Terminus Systems and Skillian Verge. The smuggler and weapons dealer Donovan Hawk on Bekenstein, right next door to the Citadel employs Eclipse mercenaries.

    In 2186, after Cerberus took control of Omega Eclipse found their base of operations compromised and Sederis herself was later captured and imprisoned on the Citadel. Her second in command Sayn, has taken over the operations of Eclipse while making a deal with Aria to secure Sederis' release. Already an unstable asari, Commander Bailey noted imprisonment has only served to unhinge her further.
