Ufouria: The Saga Community

This is depressing. One of the best games on the NES and Nintendo can't even emulate it properly. This is a PAL game, so it ends up getting sound/gameplay problems when played in an American system. As a result, all the music's in a higher pitch and speed (except dat glorious Sunsoft bass, making the music clash) and everything plays faster (but not in a good way). It's a dang shame. :(

  • That sounds like it was perfectly emulated to me, since that's exactly how it would have played on a NES. Would have preferred they drop the translation in to the Japanese version myself, but that's probably a lot more work than it's worth.

  • I Saw Nesguide do a gameplay video and it was running like a NTSC cart, it didn't look (or sound) that bad.

  • Nah, I can't even tell you what Hebeke is here.

  • Why is this Nintendo's fault and not Sunsoft's?

  • I guess it's more because this is a virtual console port- it's literally an emulated version of the rom. Had Sunsoft actually brought this over to the States themselves back in the day, this problem probably wouldn't exist. I think Sunsoft is defunct now, though, so we're not getting anything anytime soon.

  • Can anyone who lives in Europe tell me if they've gotten any sound or emulation issues? You shouldn't, since it's a European game, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

  • Sunsoft isn't defunct. They handle the VC publication of their own games, even make new ones on occassion. They made Blaster Master Overdrive for Wiiware not too long ago.

  • It's an emulated version of the ROM if it was played on an NTSC NES. "Ufouria" was never released in the states, so the game is sped up to 60 Hz.

  • This is why I hate it when people complain about "lack of 60Hz". Some NES/Famicom games DON'T WORK like that.

  • Yeah, I know. At any rate, I will say that I appreciate Sunsoft recognizing this game worthy of being brought back in VC form. It's an underrated gem and I love it.

  • Still wish they'd make this simple fix.
