    This is a strange game, so here's what you can do: Jump onto an enemy while holding down to crush enemies. They either drop small balls that restore health, or drop large ones you can throw as weapons

    Also, you do get special attacks later. Bop-Louie (the guy you start as) can get an attack that launches his head at enemies when you hold the B/1 button and release it.

    I think it's because Sunsoft wanted a more realistic jumping mechanic, like jumps are only light jumps unless you apply your weight, which then makes it a stomp. Jumps wont hurt, but stomps will.

    Yeah, it's a great Metroidvania game. I wish we got the rest of the games in the series. There's actually a game in the series for the Super Famicom that is a Smash Bros. style fighting game.
