frankly, in my honest opinion: i find MKs 7 & 8 to be good. However I like 8 a tad better (I wasn't a battle person anyway). granted, the item distribution runs different...but the nerfing of Monster wheels is exactly what this game needed. I don't mind racing people w/ monsters, but when u abuse them: well, let's just say that monster vehicles every race won't earn my worthiness in 7
