  • Because 4 DIFFERENT levels was huge! Welcome to 1982! For the original Donkey Kong, Miyamoto originally wanted the game to have four display monitors so the player could see what crazy hard stuff was coming ahead, but that was insanely physically impossible. So he settled on having one after the other.

  • Back then, increased challenge means "do it again" or "do it again, faster". The four different levels of the original Donkey Kong couldn't fit in the home computer and home console versions because it was TOO BIG even though it was just four screens! They had to leave out the pie factory.

  • yeah rember back then most games was just a single screen think space invaders. i beat is game for the first in 1985 on Atari 5200
