So Mario Kart 7 let you fly in the air and dive underwater. In Mario Kart 8 you defyed gravity (I think I misspelled defyed). So (probably) the only thing left is teleportation. Like how you might have used it in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Maybe it could be a new item or could be the whole concept of the game? Anyone agree with me?
