To take a screen shot, 1.) Press the home button at the moment you want to capture something 2.) Click on the Miiverse icon in the upper right hand corner. 3.) Click on the post button in the community that you want to post it in. 4.) In the posting screen there will be an icon in the upper right hand corner, click it. 5.) Now choose weather you want the upper or lower screen

I think you press the HOME button while playing a game. Then, you go to Miiverse. When you go to post something, there should be a rectangle in the top-right part of the screen.
