Since I woke up too late to comment on the Samus picture from Tuesday, I figured I post about it here. What is with you people? why are so many people getting into an uproar about Samus' physical appearance? it's FICTION. IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE REALISTIC.

  • I just feel I should remind people that this series, for all intents and purposes, is a FAMILY FRIENDLY GAME, and therefore, PHYSICS does NOT need to apply! I'm sick of so many people complaining about Samus! Has she suddenly lost the ability to fight? no. Did she suddenly become NOTHING but eye candy for a certain sickening type of people? no, I'm pretty sure she's been like that since her debut.

  • Need I remind one of the bikini ending from Metroid 1? apparently so. Most Metroid games end with Samus removing her power suit and showing that she's a girl. It's been like this for years! I also need to mention myself in this.

  • I'm a fourteen year old. That's right, I'm a teenage male, and I'm sickened by the though of looking up a woman's dress, or peering into the ladies room to see them remove their shirt.

  • Now, let me say this. Zero Suit Samus' alternate costume looks cool to me. I don't like it because of Samus' "attributes", I like it because it looks cool to me. I was hoping for this costume, because I like the idea that Samus can fight in such attire. Not to mention, it just plain looks less restrictive to me than a skin-tight suit. In fact, I like this outfit because it IS an outfit.

  • To me, it looks like actual clothing, unlike the Zero Suit which seems to function more like a second skin. Seeing Samus in something that actually looks and no doubt FEELS like actual clothing give me comfort. The top doesn't reveal any chest skin and looks like it's not gonna fall off and flash everybody unintentially, same for the shorts. They're shorts, what can one say? All can wear shorts.

  • Then, the unrealistic factor. Some people are complaining about Samus' new firing pose. Guess what? that's how people are TRAINED to pose while holding a freaking hand gun. Yes, that's right, that's how Samus was taught to look when holding her blaster to fire it. Real people take similar poses everyday. Oh, and guess what?

    Yeahs0
  • I, a kind of lazy, not very athletic teenage BOY, can strike the same pose. I can almost EXACTLY mimic that firing pose with my toy Nerf handgun. Guess what? my only discomfort was my bent knee, and that could easily be explained as I AM NOT AN ATHLETE, unlike Samus here, who can quickly shift between this pose and a roll if she has too.

    Yeahs0
  • She's not taking that pose to reveal her chest, she's taking it because it's PROFESSIONAL. She's trained in the freaking military, for Arceus' sake! it just ticks me off so much that people give no though into what fictional people do. Besides that, again, IT'S FICTION, IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE REALISTIC. Why does Samus take that pose then? Because it's cool. Certainly better than the old one to me!
