I'm pretty sure they don't just go for graphics. The graphics are just a byproduct.

Have you played some Wii U games before? Especially Mario Kart 8, that's a biggie.

While I agree about battle mode, Mario Kart 8 plays just how I want it too. Smoothly, faster paced and lots of extra ways to gain speed. I'm personally indifferent to having two items at once, due to the possibility of having six green shells making a player nigh invincible. Coins... annoying, but probably doing good for me in the long run. For record, I own and play the SNES, N64, and MK Wii.

Yup, those last gen graphics which Nintendo fans have just experienced for the first time forever.

Just because a game like MK8 has outstanding graphics, doesn't mean that they just went for them. They wanted to make the game gorgeous, like Super Mario 3D Land.

Lol no. Trailers showed the game. You can't play trailers. You can only see them. That's why they have to make it look good. You really don't know everything inside until you actually get the game.

I also know I'm playing on inferior graphics anyway. I used to play my Xbox 360 most of the time, and then play my older consoles here and there. This is the first time I've ever been current with Nintendo and so far, it's pleasing me.

Just to tell you, older Nintendo games were so much better in content than nowadays.

Yes and no. Does Mario Kart 8 suffer in content compared to older games? Well yeah, its battle mode is bunked. But take Luigi's Mansion for instance. The Gamecube title as fun as it is, is quite simplistic. Dark Moon however, has vastly improved on the concepts and mechanics given. It even had endgame in ScareScraper. For a Wii U example, 3D World trumps the original 3 NES. Smash 4 will be packed.

Oh, the 3DS is fine. That's a great system. It has great games, tons of features, and 46 million users. It's the Wii U I'm worried about.

I'm pretty sure 3D World wasn't as great as Galaxy or Sunshine. Everyone loves those, for good reasons.

But you have to admit, Wii U games aren't as great or memorable as GameCube games or even Wii games.

Fair, valid comparison. Though 3D World has more in common with its more streamlined, simpler handheld cousins than a full fledged usual console title. Last I heard, it was getting made for 3DS before its upgrade anyway. And we still have some 3rd party people, working on 1st party franchises. That hasn't happened for a while. I'm holding high hopes despite a slow start.
