TRIVIA TUESDAY: When creating the concept for the all-females asari the designers looked to the real world for inspiration. The teardrop crest of the asari's scalp was based on the long hair of a woman stepping out of water, the way hair sleeks back when soaking wet resembles the cartilage hair tentacles of the asari.

    I thought the gerudo from LOZ inspired them because there both pretty much all female.

    That would be silly. The inspiration for the race themselves was the green female aliens from Star Trek. Also the designers did draw up a male asari but it didn't look very good so they abandoned it in favor of making them all female
