I was actually thinking and I'm throwing this out there, that since in TF4 they killed Ratchet and there going to do 5 an 6. I was thinking they probably have to bring either Red Alert or First Aid and the Protectbots. What do you think?

    First the kill off Jazz, then Ironhide, and now Rachet (its bad enough that the last two died in the 1986 movie) whats's the point of killing off all these characters?

    In G1, Red Alert was the Security Officer for the Autobots; he had nothing to do w/ maintenance. Hoist, First Aid, Perceptor, & your pick of Junkions (but namely Junkheap, according to toy bio) can fill in as Medic. For those saying no to Perceptor, remember his Transmat Reduction Beam? That device's primary function was to enlarge parts for repair & return them to normal size for re-installation.

    Perceptor is the most likely choice. Hes very iconic with his hillarious transformation. Though, I can imagine Bay using Animated Perceptors transformation (A tank).

    The only info TFW2005 passed along was that IGN 'confirmed' that Bay isn't doing 5. & all IGN said (had to follow the link just now) was that “Bay has officially passed on helming” TF5 & then talked about the movie he's doing instead.

    That fan site has been right on most things movie-wise & gets news straight from Hasbro sometimes. The weak link here is if IGN is wrong, again. However, Bay had said he'd leave after 4, but was talked into doing it, so I think his leaving is likely true, this time. At least I hope he is. As a life-long TF fan, I hated not being able to enjoy the movies.
