Sakurai! You should have the original SMASH BROS N64 as a MASTER PIECE! This would be a great way to let the new younger generations of gamers check out how SMASH began.

I love this... So will retro gamers. Does that mean we'll get to play Pokémon Emerald? Or Fire Emblem? Awesome! And make a Pokémon game for WiiU, while you're at it.

yes, these are demos. And? The main idea of it is to make you buy the game... obviously, but it also helps you to know a little of Nintendo old games history. Most of today gamers don't get our love to old "retro" games. It is good people can know them, to play them, for free.

This masterpieces mode remember how bad Nintendo has been with the overall Virtual Console on WiiU. Where's N64 games? The weaker Wii has this since launch! And how about Gamecube, DS, Gameboy Color, Sega plataforms, Neo Geo and Arcades? Come on Nintendo, make your old fans happy and bring this to WiiU. Thanks!

How many masterpieces are there, I wonder? Probably not for every fighter I guess, like the entire FE-Fighters (at least outside of Japan).

These demos had their own specific time limits, allowing you to get the gist of the core gameplay. The selection will obviously be different this time around...

I want there to be a Sonic game on there but at the same time, I know that it'll be the singular Sonic game that everyone and the grandparents have played. Sonic 1.

I still think people should've been able to play as Luigi in the Lost Levels trial since that's where most of his physics come from.

FUNFACT: Earthbound was only in the Japanese version of Brawl as a trial but never had a Virtual Console release, but in other places, Earthbound is an unused trial in Brawl, but since there isn't any issues putting the game on virtual console, the trial doesn't have to be removed out of the game in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U.

I kinda hope we start a good bit into Earthbound... the beginning is quite slow!

Isn't it strange that you could play with the Gamecube controller with the trials, but you can't actually use it on the actual Virtual Console release?

If anybody didn't notice, In the Japanese 50-fact-extravaganza I saw it show off Luigi in the Lost Levels instead of Mario unlike the other 50-fact-extravaganzas.

I wasn't a big fan of the masterpieces in Brawl and I am not too thrilled to see them returning; but I do like the idea that if you find something you like, you can buy it right from the game.

I'd be willing to bet that N64 games start coming out on the Wii U VC with the release of the GCN controller adapter. They probably already have some ready.

@oniel Well, isn't SOMEONE whiny early in the morning. There's this little something that exists, and it's called: SOME PEOPLE HAVEN'T SEEN THE DIRECT. Sakurai is catching the people who haven't seen it up to date. Also, there's only 2 days before the game comes out. I'm pretty sure if YOU were making a game for at least 3 years, you'd be worn out by all the development it's had. Be patient.

Amazing!!! And they even have the release dates for the games too! I Love history, and nostalgia! Makes me wanna play them all, and their times are longer than they were on Brawl's masterpiece.

Remember the master pieces are like the controls on the original system. So NES should be easy because a,b and D-Pad. Snes might be hard at first. Then N64 has that C-stick that also act as the C-buttons.

Guys, you don't know what Sakurai and his team have sacrificed financially, socially, or physically. I read articles online about what happened to him developing past Smash Bros. games, and this one is the biggest and best yet by far, so just be happy that he cares about his fans, the game, and Nintendo. He also said somethings that changed my mind about clones and clone critics, too.
