    Did Link imagine the events of Majora's Mask due to an existential crisis and lack of identity after he is freed from all profecy having defeated the evil Ganondorf in Oot? Does link suffer from post traumatic stress disorder after the horrors he experienced during his quest? (that freaky monster in the well.) Maybe Link loses his mind, like a war veteran, stumbling around hyrule halluanating

    Maybe these false visions of his are what we see in Majoras Mask. The repetition of normal life, something Link never had and is unaccustomed to, the familiar yet warped faces of those in his fictional town. Skull kid, the embodiment of his desire for distruction and chaos, which he fights constantly. A sad tale of a poisoned mind, struggling to cope with a meaningless existence
