    Well, HB can be used for more than piracy, but even then its primary use is just that. I definitely discourage HB. It's easier to play by the rules than risk bans/avoid updates/avoid online and exploits can cause games to be taken down from the eShop until patched, which causes loss of sales for devs as well as user base unhappiness. The people that discover exploits can be really inconsiderate...

    What the heck? i was just getting started on making a MML guide game where it teachs you how to make your own music using MML. but now this? sigh. but why is there no miiverse news about that?! I SEE NOTHING!

    yeah i just got this a few weeks ago and just figured out to use the raycast engine i h8 it when hbers spread to other communitys WE NEED TO HAVE A BACK UP COMMUNITY LIKE IF THIS COMMUNITY GETS DELETED WE CAN STILL TALK ABOUT CODING IN A DIFFERENT COMMUNITY.

    Another thing too @pkyoshi, Homebrew is not illegal whatsoever, it's pirating that is illegal, softmodding/hardmodding your 3DS only voids the warranty(tfw uo hev 5 yer old 3ds :D). A great example of it is SmileBASIC File Manager, which I use quite a lot honestly.

    @AnswerXOX I'm aware of the definition of HB, but it's also used as a shorthand term for hax. And while the software itself might not count as piracy, there is software such as emulators that definitely encourages piracy. I've seen it. Besides, I've pointed out that HB brings too many cons for just a few pros. Definitely not worth it.
